We have a total of 10 applicators at 5 of our agronomy branches capable of variable rate application of lime, dry fertilizers, and manure.
This includes our new multi-applier dry spreader capable of applying two products variable rate
in one pass. This results in less compaction and reduced spreading costs for our customers.
Variable rate application of crop nutrients starts with a solid soil sampling plan. We have built our precision agriculture program to allow for sampling based on using specific grid patterns within a field, or we can set up management zones based on soil type, yield history of a field, Veris tool readings, or other parameters the farmer wants to incorporate.
Mercer Landmark utilizes the latest software from AgLeader, SMS Advanced, to manage
and analyze the site specific data collected from your farm. We have built flexibility into the program to allow us to tailor your specific variable rate application recommendations to fit
your yield goals and nutrient needs for each individual farm and field. We can make
applications for single year or two years of crops depending on your rotation needs. We
can also help you with management of your harvest yield data, as well as prescriptions for variable rate planting.
