October: Fourth Week Update
The week saw the dome SE floor poured & finished Monday. Tuesday the SW floor was poured & had a surprise visit from state field inspector. The inspector was happy with what he saw. He was getting familiar with project since the normal inspector had a heart attack. Wednesday, we received a load of the dome roof sections and a load of forms. Crew starting coupling the forms together into larger sections. Thursday, was more the same until rained out. Friday, they are starting to stand the forms into place. Earlier in the week, we finished our gate and starting today, it will be closed when nobody is here. I want to keep the onlookers out because there is too much standing in the air now with the forms up. I hope this will limit liability exposure and make for a more secure site.
Last Friday, the inside forms for the dome walls were set. Saturday, the dome floor was sawed and sealed. Monday, the wall rebar was set and tied in place.
