Our mission here at Mercer Landmark is to make a difference by providing profitable solutions that keep agricultural producers and communities growing. With over 280 employees across our 19+ locations, we have served northwest Ohio for many decades. We pride ourselves on offering our local farmers, businesses and homeowners a wide variety of products across our four divisions and providing the best service and solutions. As a local ag co-op, we have a high focus on community and helping our members maximize their benefits while continuously improving our services to our local farmers and businesses.

The History

The Payne location was established in 1917 as Payne Equity Exchange, then merged with Paulding Landmark and in 2001, was acquired by the Terra Latty Location. Fast forward to 2007, the location finally merged into what it is today – Mercer Landmark. The acquired grain storage, formally known as EMP/TruPointe, allowed the east and west grain capacity to reach over 2 million bushels for storage of corn, soybeans and soft red wheat.

The Services

Payne offers a wide range of agronomy services. The services include timely applications, crop protection, fertilizer, seeds, precision technology and energy products. The team at Payne specializes in comprehensive risk management solutions, grain marketing, rail and truck services to customers. We are on the leading edge of the sustainability movement. On location, we have Certified Crop Advisors (CCA) who are trained on how to facilitate sustainability throughout the year. The Payne and Glenmore locations are 4R certified. The 4R Nutrient Stewardship Certification Program encourages agricultural retailers and independent crop consultants (nutrient service providers or NSPs) to adopt proven best practices through the 4Rs, which refers to using the Right Source of Nutrients at the Right Rate and Right Time in the Right Place.

At Payne, you will find well-maintained application equipment, trucks and rolling stock. Not only is the Payne team up-to-date on all of the latest equipment and software, but focuses on providing excellent customer service. From grain to agronomy, the staff is educated, skilled, caring and always puts safety first.

Into The Future

We are expanding our footprint to offer our customers bigger and better services. Currently, we are building a state-of-the-art facility that will include a warehouse, shop, office and offer 24/7 loading of liquid fertilizer. This environmentally safe hub will complement the new Latty Grain Terminal and add value to sustainability and improve the longevity in our marketplace.
